Body art designs for the hands have proved to be a controversial subject among certain aspects of the tattooing profession to such an extent that some tattooists will refuse to do work on this particular body part, such as a palm tattoo. This is a very delicate area of skin that is prone to sweating and rubbing, not to mention the perpetual movement of the hands as well as frequent bouts of cleaning and daily washing. For this reason, designs on the hand often need touching up as they do not last as long here as they would on other parts and in some cases the design may distort or come off completely when it scabs during the healing process.
If you like the idea of a tattoo placed somewhere on the skin surface of your hand, then you may have to look around more than usual to find a reputable tattooist who will be willing to undertake the work as many do not like to place designs here. This includes imagery for a palm tattoo but there are some advantages to this particular body part, not least the fact that it is in a good location for the individual to show it off. Body art designs here do not have the longevity of other placement areas so if you had one done on impulse in a foolish moment of youthful rebellion it would fade in a matter of years so you would not be stuck with it for life!
